Heroes Aren’t Born, They’re Raised: In Conversation With Sigrid
The denim chapter is here, spotlighting our heroes in the most heroic Holzweiler Denim. We sat down with Norway’s national treasure on set.
For the next chapter of our Heroes campaign, we spotlight talent whose journey embodies independence, strength, and creativity. Sigrid is a longtime lover of Holzweiler and the feeling is mutual - we are longtime fans of hers. Alongside this symbol of her generation, we explore denim as a shapeshifting, day-to-day uniform in motion, built for real lives lived with intensity, artistry, and authenticity. Our modern hero showcases her denim heroes, worn with her own beloved Holzweiler Cia Leather Jacket - her go-to wardrobe comfort blanket, if you will, which she lives in.
We're committed to creating the perfect fit for all, made to move and age gracefully with you in effortless style as you navigate everyday life. Holzweiler Denim is the realisation of this commitment. Our hero denim staples are designed to transcend seasons, time and trends; moving seamlessly through each season of your life with you, crafted from high-quality, eco-conscious and durable fabrics.
After a joyful day on set of shooting Sigrid in her favourite hero pieces, we sat down with the musical star to talk about finding her voice, her childhood, style and personal heroes…

Who is the ultimate hero in your eyes and what qualities do they possess?
I’m not sure if I have one particular hero in mind, but when I think of a hero, I think of someone who is kind, has a big heart, who’s able to make difficult decisions. That’s a hero in my eyes.
Who helped you to see what’s possible in life?
My parents. They’re very open and supportive; although I think they thought that my music career was just going to be a gap year after high school before I started university! I studied for three weeks and I dropped out, so…
How did you come to find your voice in music and songwriting? And how did your upbringing in Ålesund, Norway inspire you to find this?
I had a very fun childhood, me and my siblings were just running around, doing so many different activities. We made our own football team, we made our circus, we had theatre plays - we forced our dad to film us when we had improvised theatre. It was amazing! My sister made clothes and I would be the model on the catwalk in our house which was fun! So I think that inspired me to just be creative and express myself.

Who or what shaped the person you are today?
The piano in my childhood home, because my parents wanted someone to play it. It was either me or my two older siblings - my sister started singing, and my brother started playing the guitar - so it had to be me. I started playing piano and I fell in love with music.
Whilst not forgetting our roots and where we started, Holzweiler is proud to champion fellow Norwegian talent raising themselves to heroic status on a global scale - who is a Norwegian-born creative talent that you admire most, and why?
Wow, there’s so many - there are a lot of great musicians from Norway that have always inspired me. Todd Terje, Röyksopp, Highasakite, Emilie Nicolas… They’ve all inspired me a lot. Karpe as well, always coming up with new, crazy ideas.
What kind of people have left a mark on you?
Everyone I tour with, everyone I work with in so many different countries - it’s really incredible to be able to meet so many new people.
What kind of world do you want to help build?
I want to help build a world that’s better for everyone, not just better for some people.

What makes you feel most confident and like your true self off stage?
When I wear jeans and a T-shirt, it feels like a second skin to me. It’s where I feel at home, I feel hot, cool, in control, flexible - like I can do whatever I want to do. I feel the best when I’m on stage I think, I feel at home up there.
Has your music career influenced your fashion choices over the years at all? If so, how?
[Laughs] My fashion sense is purely practical. Where I grew up on the west coast of Norway, there’s always something happening with the weather. It’s always snowing, raining, sunny, wind - it can happen in one day there. So Norwegians are just used to changing our outfits all the time and being prepared for anything. You can never go wrong with jeans and a T-shirt. I can show up to a party in jeans and T-shirt and it feels effortless, and I go to a bakery in the morning and I will feel like I slip right in.
Are there any other fashion choices that you wish you would have made?
I feel like I’ve done a bit of that today, actually! Today has been about movement, feeling great in my body, in my skin, and having a good time. I’ve felt powerful, cool, happy, excited - perfect!
