Holzweiler x Hanne Friis
Introducing Hanne Friis, an Oslo-based visual artist. Hanne has created a series entitled "Map," which consist of sculptures that are made out of our silk scarves from past collections
The Kart / Map series is made of Holzweiler's beautiful, patterned silk scarves. The silk scarves are shaped with a sewing technique that presses the fabric together with small, dense folds. The original patterns are deconstructed, and it appears as three-dimensional curves, structures, lines and colour fields, similar to a map or a landscape. The shapes can be associated with geology, vegetation or the most similar; the clothes we wear. I think that each sculpture has an identity, as a human being, charged with different experiences, stories and emotions.
