Holzweiler Copenhagen:

The space is a collaboration with our long term design partner and internationally renowned architecture practice Snøhetta.
Following a conceptual approach entitled: ‘Traces’, the considered 110 square foot interior focuses on bringing Norway to Copenhagen. Throughout the store there are a variety of visual characteristics, a nod to the varied characters within the Holzweiler team.
A focal point of the space is a bold clay sculpture designed collaboratively with Norwegian artist Ingeborg Riseng. Juxtaposing the store’s neutral curved oak veneer, the sculpture provides a moment where customers can enter the piece for a moment of reflection. Inspired by ‘traces’ of a memory and curiosity, the sculpture brings a layer of depth to the momentary retail experience.
The interior architecture is informed by our Norwegian spirit and a desire to embed this in the experience of the space. Reminiscent of a lingering memory or feeling, the idea of ‘Traces’ evokes an emotional sense of our heritage as we travels to a new city,
Guiding you through the space, the backdrop is made from soft curved wood, curating a sensory dialogue between the clay surface and the store interior. A continuation of the space’s emotive theme, the changing rooms feature a soft note of colour and dynamic printed curtains that subtly change tones to resemble the Norwegian sky – a thoughtful collaboration with Holzweiler and Copenhagen’s Tronhjem Rømer.
The finishing touch is industrial-style custom lighting made from stainless steel – a contrast to the organic and earthy materials within the store.
